The creative urge doesn’t always take a break when I do.
I’ve been on a short holiday in Slettestrand.
Slettestrand is an area in the vest coast of Eastern Jutland in Danmark. Pure nature, endless seaside with constant wind and waves.
I just couldn’t help looking at the typography of the signs in the area.
There are some fine and rustic solutions, but none of them told me about the constant wind and the wild waves of the sea, which are very characteristic of Slettestrand.
I felt like drawing it: A logo for Slettestrand.
I started with thumbnail sketches – with pencil on paper. Then, I picked the right sketch and fine-tuned it. Finally, I created the vector file in Adobe Illustrator.
This time I worked without a specific brief from a client and the purpose of the logo was not defined. I simply wanted to catch and visualize the feeling that Slettestrand awakens in me. And I know that other people feel the same way.
