I was not born in Aalborg. I am from Hungary and have lived in Aalborg since 2007. As a “legal alien”, I see the city as both a foreigner and a resident. With both criticism and love. Mostly with love, as I have gotten to know the city’s many gems and Aalborg has become my home.

The town is beautiful and ugly. Old and new. Big and small. It depends on how you want to look at it. I choose to see it through the filter of love and I want to invite people to do the same.

That is why I have made a postcard book consisting of 30 drawings – glimpses of Aalborg, which have helped me feel at home here. A book that not only tourists might want to have, but also people who live in Aalborg or have a connection to the city.

I wanted to buy a book about Aalborg, but it did not exist. As I am a graphic artist and illustrator, it came naturally to me to create a personal Aalborg book. People, who see my drawings of Aalborg, say that by looking at them, they can recognize their own feelings for the city. The book reminds them why they love Aalborg.

I play tourist in Aalborg regularly, walking or cycling around and enjoying the city’s beautiful details.

Aalborg is not a big city, but a tiny metropolis with everything you need, in a manageable size and with lots of little gems.

Many call Aalborg the Paris of the Nordics. It is not. But it tells me something about the love for the city.

I love Aalborg.
And I know that many do it, too.

This is how I did the lettering piece of the title.
I picked inspiration from the benches of Budolfi church.
